In keeping with it design and structure, the Oceanogràfic has species from all over the world. For this reason, they require different care and proper maintenance to the needs of each plant. During the tour, we will find about 27 types of palm trees, 37 species of deciduous and evergreen, about 64 species of shrubs as various grasses and creepers.

The total surface area of the garden reaches approximately 10,000 m2, equipped mostly with underground drip irrigation. In some towers or installations, such as Wetlands, the vegetation provides the necessary conditions to create proper habitat for animals found there.

Visitors will discover the most representative species in the gardens of Oceanogràfic through some technical specifications, where you have to know the family, the origin, the species to which they belong and some interesting data.

Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera)
Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana)
Macrozamia palm (Macrozamia moorei)
Downy Japanese Maple (Acer japonicum)
Judas tree (Cercis siliquastrum)
American Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua)
Swamp cypress (Taxodium distichum)
Kidney Weed (Dichondra repens)
