| The Museum offers a lecture on the relationship between chemistry and crime Posted: 09 May 2011 02:58 AM PDT What has chemistry got to do with a murder? Are there killer molecules? Is it easy to discover a poison? These and other questions about the relationship between chemistry and crime will respond next Thursday, May 12 at the Principe Felipe Science Museum science journalist and writer John Emsley, who present the conference "Molecules of murder: molecules criminals and classic cases". Emsley, one of the great international broadcasters of chemistry, winner in 2003 with the award for science writers of the German Chemical Society, will talk about some amazing stories where the chemical is mixed with crime, even today, have not been entirely resolved. The conference is part of the series ‘true to science’, set by the City of Arts and Sciences, which presents everyday topics on health, environment and technological advances to know to what extent the information we have is correct . Throughout the series, the speakers provide solid, well-founded basis to be able to understand these issues related to daily life in all its complexity and importance. This is communicated in a simple way while at the same time being attractive about everything know as 'true to science' |
