| The artist Cristobal Gabarr�n will meet students at the Promenade of Art Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:15 PM PDT On Wednesday, October 19 at 11am, a group of 50 students from the first cycle of secondary education will meet the painter, sculptor and muralist Francisco Gabarrón which exhibits his work "The Towers Alhambra " in the Umbracle since las May. Later, at 13 pm, the artist will be at Twitter and Facebook to answer Internet users questions. This is a unique opportunity to meet the artist and his work in person. After a tour of the exhibition accompanied by Gabarrón, students will participate in a creativity workshop to become familiar with the artist's style. Also, they will make a drawing by using the sculptor’s formal language, trying to relate to the theme of the tree, to highlight the International Year of Forests declared by the UN. All drawings will participate in a contest whose jury will be part Gabarrón. There will be two winners, one for each center. Located at the Promenade of Art and free of charge, the "Towers of the Alhambra" exhibition is a collection of 17 large-scale sculptures to six meters high. Inspired by the Arab palace and made out of polychrome-painted fibreglass. |
