THE CITY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES PRESENTS ITS IDEA AWARDS

The City of Arts and Sciences has presented its Idea Awards, awards given by the City of Arts and Sciences Foundation to promote, stimulate and show appreciation for the talent of young people who have just started out on the adventure of scientific research.

Taking part in the awards ceremony were the general manager of Projects Coordination, Cristina Morató, the general manager of the City of Arts and Sciences, Pedro García Ribot, and the chairperson of the Santiago Grisolía Jury, as well as those the award winners.

In this 7th annual holding of this event, the Ideas Awards recognised the work undertaken by the researchers Miguel Ángel Aloy Torás, of the University of Valencia, the winners in the Physio-Chemical Sciences category for his project "Do holes cry on being born?"; and Marc Antoni Marti Renom, of the Príncipe Felipe Research Centre, in the Life Sciences category for his work "CartoGene.Mapping the human genome".

In addition, Adela García Aracil, of the Advanced School of Scientific Research CSIC-UPV, was the award winner in the Social Sciences, Communications, Art and Humanities category for her project "Innovative Entrepreneurism in University Students (EIPIAU)"; whilst Gabriela Llosá Llácer, of the Institute of Corpuscular Physics at the Advanced Centre for Scientific Research CSIC-UVEG, won the award in the Technologies category for her project "Real time image telescoping in cancer therapy ".
