The Easter Camp starts at the Oceanogràfic

Posted: 10 Apr 2012 03:45 AM PDT

From today Tuesday until Friday April 13, children from the Easter Camp will discover at the Oceanogràfic the wonders of the oceans through some of the legendary people who have contributed so much to our knowledge of the seas, such as Captain Cousteau, Darwin, Amundsen and Sylvia Earle.

The programme includes various activities relating to the care and conservation of the marine environment. Children have enjoyed today a visit to the technical area of the Arctic and Antarctic facilities, a 'Penguin Encounter' and have even been able to interview a veterinarian.

On Thursday the 12th April, the children will be able to “Sleep with Sharks”; they will spend the night in the Oceans Tower and fall asleep surrounded by bull sharks and grey sharks, as well as sunfish and other species. The following day, the children will take part in a release of turtles that will be returned to their natural environment after spending the necessary recovery time in the Oceanogràfic’s ARCA del Mar (The Marine Animals Recovery and Conservation Area).
