The Príncipe Felipe Science Museum has jointly, with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and CEFIRE of Valencia, organised the fifth season of the course ‘How to Motivate Students Through Attractive Scientific Activities’, aimed at secondary school teachers. The course is due to begin on 5th September.

In this initiative it makes use of the interactive proposals of the Science Museum, fascinating laboratory experiments, the use of explanatory texts or scientific toys to arouse students' curiosity, as well as the experience and examples of science teaching from other European countries, such as Germany or France.

The main objective is to share a space for reflection, discussion, presentation and exchange teaching and learning experiences from the perspective of an entertaining, creative and fun science. This is to overcome the difficulties that teachers face daily in the teaching and learning of science and also due to the increasingly poor motivation and lack of interest of students to study science.

Note that in the past years, the course has got the attention of bodies such as the international group of experts in scientific education policies (UNESCO). Also the blog http://www.cienciaalucinante.blogspot.com/ by teachers from the Natural Sciences Department in La Salle Professional School (Paterna), which participated in the course, won the Ministry of Education National Award (Educational Blogs Category).
